Join us for a community conversation about the current challenges faced by animal welfare organizations throughout New York State and nationally. Since the Covid-19 pandemic we have seen dramatic overcrowding at animal shelters in our communities. This problem is often exacerbated by cruelty cases and hoarding situations that require immediate emergency action to care for the animals. During this conversation we will be joined by Ashley Jeffrey Bouck, President and CEO of the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, the largest animal welfare organization in the Capital Region of New York. Ashley will be joined by Professor Tom Mackey who volunteers as a member of the Board of Directors, and current Chair, for this organization. Ashley and Tom will discuss the Humane Society’s approach to address these concerns and strive toward the mission of this organization for “Transforming the lives of animals and people through partnerships, protection and hope.” Specific proactive strategies for animal welfare will be introduced and members of the community will be encouraged to ask questions and share ideas.

Our speakers for this conversation include:
Ashley Jeffrey Bouck, President and CEO, Mohawk Hudson Humane Society
Tom Mackey, Professor of Arts and Media at Empire State University and Board Member, Mohawk Hudson Humane Society

To learn more about the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, go to: www.mohawkhumane.org/.

We look forward to talking with you at this event!
